What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith

The Holy Scriptures: We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the inspired record of God’s revelation of Himself and of His will to mankind and that they are without error. (II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:20, 21; John 16:12.13)

The Godhead: We believe that there is one God who has existed eternally in three personalities – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each having the same perfect qualities. (Deuteronomy 6:4, II Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal and unique Son of God. He became a man through the virgin birth but did not cease to be God. He came to earth to reveal God to man and to accomplish our redemption through His death on the Cross as our substitute and that He arose physically from the grave. He then ascended to heaven where He is our representative before the Father. (Romans 3:24-25; I Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:3- 5)

The Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead who convicts the world of sin and regenerates, baptizes, indwells, seals, and empowers the saved. (John 18:8-11; II Corinthians 3:6; I Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13)

The Total Depravity of Man: We believe that man is totally depraved and cannot save himself from his lost condition or in any way contribute to his salvation. (Romans 3:22-23; 5:2)

Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God and cannot be earned or merited in any way. The human condition in justification is faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, such faith being a gift from God (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12)

Security of Believers: We believe that salvation is an act of God and that a man who is saved cannot be lost. (John 10:27-30)

The Two Natures of the Believer: We believe that every Christian possesses a new nature from God as well as the old, depraved nature. The eradication of the old nature is unscriptural. (I John 1:18; Ephesians 4:22-24)

Separation from the World: We believe that every Christian should be so separated unto the Lord that a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices would be evidenced. (Romans 12:1-2; II Timothy 3:1-5)

Spiritual Gifts: We believe that the gifts of evangelists, pastors and teachers are sufficient for the perfecting of the saints today. Sign-gifts, including tongues, gradually ceased as the New Testament Scriptures were completed and their authority became established. In accord with His will, we believe
that God does hear and answer the prayer of faith for the sick and afflicted. (Ephesians 4:7-12; John 15:7; James 5:15)

Missions: We believe it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and by word to the truth of the Bible and to proclaim the Gospel to all the world. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

The Second Coming of Christ: We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones, and His subsequent return to earth with His saints to establish His Millennial Kingdom. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Luke 16:19-26; Revelation 20:11-15)

Satan: We believe Satan is a fallen angel and a real person. He has been active in the world since the fall of man and will be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Revelation 2:10)
